La Paz and surroundings

The city of La Paz, Bolivia's seat of government, is the highest capital in the world (3600 meters above sea level), emerging from a canyon at the foot of the regal, snow-capped Illimani, standing tall as the city's "protector". From any viewpoint one can enjoy  the fascinating night view shining in this metropolis of contrasts, in which at every step one sees a fusion of the modern with the traditional.

Places of interest: Lake Titicaca, Copacabana, Island of the Sun, Tiwanaku, Huatajata, Suriki Island, Takesi.
