CITY TOUR IN THE CITY (3 HRS.)
A three-hour tour to the most attractive and affluent sites of our city: visit to the zoo where regional fauna and various endangered species can be seen. Museums, principal monuments, residential neighborhoods, and La Recova handcraft market.
EXCURSION TO BIOCENTRO GÜEMBE (3 HRS.)
Departure to the Biocentro Guembe located at 15 min. from Santa Cruz. Relaxing walk around the giant butterflies observatory, orchids and arriving to the natural pools surrounded by ornamental gardens and lagoons that border 23 hectares, of a wonderful Park.
EXCURSION TO IVAGA GUAZU PARK (3 HRS.)
Departure from Santa Cruz to the Ivaga Guazú Park, located at 12 km. from the city. Here, you will be able to appreciate a great variety of mature trees, native and exotic plants with a range of colors and flowers throughout the year. During the excursion you will find a variety of native fauna composed by birds and mammals.
EXCURSION TO LOMAS DE ARENA REGIONAL PARK (3 HRS.)
Option 1:
Departure from Santa Cruz to Lomas de Arena, which are located about 15 minutes from the city. This strange formation of dunes has been declared a protected area municipal park. Includes a short hike.
Option 2:
Longer hike along a path on the shores of the Chore Chore River toward the plains. This can also be done by carriage or on horseback. Bird watching.
EXCURSION TO COTOCA AND BOTANICAL GARDEN (3 HRS.)
Departure to the town of Cotoca, 20 kilometers from Santa Cruz, where the people shows their devotion for the Virgin of Cotoca. Visit to the town's market where handcrafted products made of sugar cane and a wide array of ceramics are offered. On the way there will be a stop at the Botanical Garden where visitors can see 500 catalogued species of flora, such as the amazing giant cactus, Toborochis, which are common in the region, and 1000 other varieties.
EXCURSION TO BUENA VISTA AND NORTHERN AMBORO PARK (FULL DAY)
Departure to Buena Vista located 100 kilometers north of Santa Cruz. This is one of the natural entrances to the Amboró National Park. One of the richest areas of flora and fauna in Bolivia. Surrounded by numerous hills.
Option 1. Visit to the church and tour of the town. Visit the Amboró Interpretation Center and tour on hiking paths with replicas of the vegetation identified with their respective names. (L)
Option 2. Leave early in the morning to Buena Vista. Tour of Amboró Park by way of hiking paths with a local guide. Return the same day. (L)
